One Little Word – February

A little behind on getting this one post.

For February, our prompt for One Little Word is to create a vision board. “A visual intention” for our word of the year –> mine is FOCUS.

At first, stress was my middle name regarding what/how/who/when for a vision board. But after a a few days and repeatedly watching Ali Edward’s video for the month, I had to tell myself to STOP. Stop overthinking this process and just do it. FOCUS on what you are wanting to accomplish this minute. Then think about the next hour, that day, the next day, etc. Take it slow and simply FOCUS on what I want. FOCUS on MY intention for the year with this one little word.

Once I did all that, my vision board came together quickly. I love how it turned out. So much better than I thought.

Have you ever created a vision board? I would love to yours. Leave a comment below with a link to your vision board.

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day.

Love Us

We try to have date nights a few times a month if our schedule allows it. Between our own schedules, work and kids schedules, it’s great to just be just US.

Love this photo of us taken at one of date nights last month.

I used the Hip Kit Club January 2020 Main Kit and the January 2020 Project Life Kit for this layout. Epoxy hearts are from Scrappin Happy Studio.

For inspiration, I borrowed the freebie sketch-marmalade from LaceyAnn Designs.

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday To You

Hello friends!

Here today to share with a birthday card using Catherine Pooler’s Lava Lamp Cover Plate for the background, colored with Ranger Ink Perfect Pearls Grape Fizz. Layered the word Happy (CP’s Happy X Three Dies): white card stock, purple foam, and white card stock.

Added the birthday sentiment from CP’s So Happy Sentiment’s Stamp Set on to a die from My Creative Time’s Stitched Decorative Banner Die set. The Birthday Wishes sentiment is from My Creative Time’s Make a Wish Stamp Set.

All ink is from Catherine Pooler’s fabulous ink collections.

Absolutely one of my favorites.

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day!

One Little Word – Focus

Every year I have the best intentions to work and complete One Little Word project by Ali Edwards, but every year I have fallen short.

For 2020, my One Little Word is FOCUS.

What is the purpose of One Little Word project? Why choose one word for the year? Ali Edwards said it best,

“choosing one word for myself each January—a word to focus on, to live with, to investigate, to write about, to craft with, and to reflect upon as I go about my daily life. These words have each become a part of my life in one way or another—a process I document via simple creative monthly prompts from January to December.

You’re invited to join me in choosing your own One Little Word®.

This project centers around a year-long workshop designed to inspire you and offers monthly creative prompts and encouragement as you let this word into your life.

We are excited to offer a growing selection of One Little Word® memory keeping products for you to customize your own documentation process.”

2020 is my year to FOCUS my energy on what is important and not waste energy on toxic or negative people, places or things. This year I strive to be the best ME through self-care, creating routines, focus on my mental, spiritual and physical being.

Hope you are able to join me on this journey and FOCUS on what is important to you. January is already turning into a positive and more focused year.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Getting Back in the Grove

Good Morning Friends!

The last few years I have been in a major creative rut of my own making. Yep, I did the ultimate NO NO and starting playing ‘The Comparison Game’ as labeled by Amy Latta from Amy Latta Creations. I have followed her blog and instagram for a few months but just recently started listening to her podcast.

Talk about having an “Aha Moment” while listening to ‘The Comparison Game’ (Season 1 Episode 10). While listening, I cringed at myself, realizing that one of the main reasons I quite showing and posting my creations online was because I had been comparing myself to other craters and bloggers.

WHAT?!?

WHY?

Nobody cares.

Well, I AM DONE! Done comparing, like Amy states, “we are in control of our minds, we can choose not to play the game”.

So who is ready to play!!

Lets get to crafting ladies and gents.

All the Best,

Carol

P.S. BIG thank you Amy Latta Creations for this AHA Moment!!
